Expenses Borne by the Bride’s Family:
The tradition expected the bride's family will pay the expenses of services and goods as follows. Wedding decoration is paid by the bride’s family. The expenses on the bridal wedding dress, make-up artist, engagement party , reception, gift for the couple, bouquets of the bridesmaids, wedding flowers, and the lunchon was paid by the bride’s side. Expenses Borne by the Groom’s Family:
The groom's family traditionally bears the cost of travel and accommodations for the groom's family, rehearsal dinner, wedding gift for bride and groom and honeymoon. Groom hosts and plans bachelors' dinner. Moreover, corsages for grandmothers and mothers, boutonnieres for men and bride's bouquet and going-away corsage are all paid by the Groom and his family.
Groom and/or his family pay for both of the bride's rings, celebrant’s fee and marriage license. It must be kept in mind that weddings which are smaller tend to be cheaper and formal large weddings would be more expensive
Modern Trends in Wedding Expenses:
As the times are changing, it is a practice that instead of burdening one family with whole expenses of a wedding, now both the families, and occasionally the bride and groom share the cost of wedding event planning. The trend includes payment of entire wedding. The costs are divided evenly among the bride's family couple and the groom's family while the each family pays the expense for the number of guests it invites. The ideal way to agree about payment is for concerned and the couple and families to sit together and engage in an open discussion about what everyone can afford to pitch in. Here common sense is deciding factor of the finances and tradition takes the backseat, it depends on the financial conditions of concerned parties.
