The wedding ceremonies of Sonam Kapoor kick-started yesterday, with mehndi and Sangeet ceremony .It was everything that we had expected it to be.


The Wedding Invitations


The invites for this grand wedding have been inspired by nature and are in the shades of green. There are three separate insertions inside the card for the three wedding functions that will be held. Each insertion has a separate design of foliage printed on it. As a step towards protection of nature, Sonam Kapoor has opted to send out e-invites and save a lot of wastage of paper. Besides providing details about the venues, timings and dress code for each function, the card also says that the presence of the guests is the only gift that the couple expects, thus hinting that they do not want their guests to come with gifts.

The Guests


Besides the entire Kapoor family, the guest list included many big names from the Bollywood film industry. Before starting the ceremonies, Anil Kapoor came out of the house and greeted the media. Arjun Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor were seen playing the part of the perfect brothers to the bride and attending to all the guests. Late Sridevi’s daughters Khushi and Jhanvi Kapoor were also spotted interacting and having a good time with their cousins Rhea and Anshula Kapoor. Some of the other celebrities invited for all the wedding functions included Sonam Kapoor’s close friends from the film industry like Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan, Karisma Kapoor, Farah Khan, Swara Bhaskar, etc.

The Glowing Bride


Sonam Kapoor is known for her stunning sense of style and fashion, and therefore, there was a lot of curiosity amongst her fans, and the fashion gurus regarding her wedding outfits. For the Mehndi ceremony, which took place on the 6th, she opted for grey and pink lehenga, which was designed by Anuradha Vakil. She was glowing during the entire ceremony and even performed on various songs along with beau Anand Ahuja. The dress code for the Sangeet ceremony on the 7th evening was shades of white. Sonam Kapoor looked stunning and elegant in her white lehenga and golden blouse.
